A Queue for Les Miserables
At the Sondheim Theatre London, where another performance of the legendary show Les Miserables is soon to start. In this painting I have tried to capture the atmosphere of this amazing building, lit by well placed flood lights to enhance the poster effects.
Les Misérables, colloquially known as Les Mis or Ley Miz, is a sung-through musical adaptation of Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel of the same name, by Claude-Michel Schönberg, Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, and Herbert Kretzmer. The original French musical premiered in Paris in 1980 with direction by Robert Hossein.
